PDF headers and footers: FAQ

Can I set a header without a footer?

Yes. Leave the other field empty and only the one you filled in is written.

Can the header differ between pages?

Not in this tool: one header and one footer are applied to every page. For per-page text, add text in the full editor.

Can I include the page number in the footer?

Use the page-numbers tool for that. It understands placeholders for the current page and the page total.

Will the header overlap the existing content?

It is placed in the page margin. On documents with very little margin, reduce the size so it clears the body text.

Is the text real text in the exported PDF?

Yes. It is written as a PDF text object with an embedded font, so it stays searchable and selectable.
