Adding text to a PDF: FAQ

Is the text I add real text or just a picture of text?

It is real text. Added text is written as a PDF text object with an embedded font, so it stays selectable, searchable and copyable in other readers.

Can I add Chinese, Japanese or Korean text?

Yes. Pick the Noto Sans CJK font in the toolbar and the required glyphs are embedded in the exported file.

Can I move or edit the text after adding it?

Yes. Switch to Select and edit, then drag the text to move it, or double-click it to change the wording, font, size or color.

Can I change text that was already in the PDF?

That is a different job and it has its own tool. Open the full editor, where recognized paragraphs from the original document can be edited in place.

Do I need an account or a payment?

No. Adding text and exporting the result are free and need no account.
